Why Insight?
Many customers ask us, "What makes you better than your competitors?" When you get right down to it, almost all software designed for salons and spas will do the same basic things (sales, appointments, clients, employees, inventory, reports, etc.) So how do you decide what is best when they are all pretty much the same? Simple, just look at each of the points below. The rest of this page is designed to educate you on how to make the best decision by properly evaluating all your options and thinking about some things that most of our competitors don't want you to ask about.
What are you purchasing?
That may sound like a stupid question but it really may be the most important one you need to answer. The correct answer is that you are buying computer software as well as a company to support you while you are using that software. However, many people don't buy the software, they buy a marketing campaign designed to get you to choose their product over their competitors. A glossy brochure or a fancy video presentation using terms like "unsurpassed" and "outstanding" don't make the software any better but they do make you want to purchase them. We'll leave the glitzy marketing campaigns to our competition. Instead, we chose to make Insight the best software and focus on providing you with the best possible customer service. Remember, you're buying software, not a brochure. We will be happy to put Insight up against any competitor and prove to you that we are better.
Is it easy to use?
Everyone says that their software is "the easiest to use". Well, that is really easy to say but proving it is what counts so let me outline two reasons why I believe Insight is simpler to learn and use. First, let's talk about software design. Insight is designed so that every screen looks and works exactly the same as all of the others. The buttons are all in the same places and do the same thing. That means that when you learn one area of the software, you have basically learned them all. (Check our competitors, most of their screens don't even look like they should be in the same program.) Second, Insight validates all your data to make sure you can't type in bad information while most of our competitors allow you to type in just about anything. Here is a simple test for any software program: Edit a client or employee and try to type the words "bad data" into the zip code or phone number...if you can then it will only take a few weeks before your data is a useless mess. These are just two examples of things we have done to make Insight easier to use than other software. Call your Insight sales rep and they will be happy to give you more proof.
Customer support is vital!
This is another area where almost everyone claims their support is the best. Don't believe any of them...even us. Anyone can say they have great support in a brochure but that doesn't mean it is true. The only true way to know what you are getting with customer support is to put everyone to the test and compare each company. Pick a time in the middle of a day and call each customer support number and ask them to show you how to do something simple like booking an appointment. On average, 65% of calls to our customer support line were directly answered by a support rep while 35% were sent to voice mail. Of the customers that had to leave a message, 94% were called back within 30 minutes. A few months back, our sales department spoke to three customers (on the same day) that wanted to look into switching to Insight because the support they were getting from their existing software was brutal. In each case, they were upset with the amount of time it took to have their initial calls returned. Three separate competitors...the best response time was 2 days, the next was 3 days and the worst was over 2 weeks. I can't even guess why it would take that long to return a phone call. So, I ask you this. "When you have a question, how long can you afford to wait?"
Is the Price fair?
Believe it or not, the software available for salons and spas can range in price from $39.95 up to well over $10,000.00 and I think both extremes are ridiculous. The company selling for $40 would need to sell 180 packages every month just to pay two employees. At the other end of the spectrum, if you pay $10,000 for software it should come with a free employee to do all the work as well. Our pricing model is one that is fair to all size businesses but we do get a lot of questions about why we have the different levels. If you want details on our pricing model, call your Insight sales rep and they will be happy to answer any of your questions.
